For many, this ‘A’ series is being seen as a warm-up ahead of the Test series against Pakistan. However, it did not start well for Mushfiqur Rahim-Moominul Haque. Enamul Haque’s team was bowled out for 122 runs in 44.3 overs in the first innings in the first four-day match against Pakistan Shaheens. Mahmudul Hasan’s only fifty in the innings, no one else could score more than 14 runs. In reply, Pakistan Shaheens scored 2 runs for no wicket in 2 overs on a rain-hit first day.

Skipper Enamul stayed for a while, playing 45 balls. However, he could not score more than 7 runs before becoming Nasim Shah’s first victim. After Enamul, Muminul was also dismissed by Nasim, both of whom were caught by wicketkeeper Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Bangladesh is playing only six recognized batsmen in this match, so Naeem Hasan has to come in seven. After the middle order, the lower middle order could not stand up to the pacers of Pakistan Shaheens. Mahmudul scored 65 off 116 balls, hitting 9 fours, before giving a return catch to Umar Amin.
