Meanwhile, fierce clashes are going on in the Curzon Hall area. Apart from this, a chase is going on in front of Shahidullah Hall. It is said that cocktails are being blasted there.
It is known that two sides clashed in front of Vijay 71 hall of Dhaka University around 3 pm on Monday. At this time, both parties are seen throwing bricks. When the protesting students retreated around 4:30 pm, the Chhatra League took a stand at Raju Bhaskar. Before this, there were frequent chases and chases between the two sides.
Earlier on Monday some time after 12 noon, the quota reform agitators came in front of the Raju sculpture with a procession. Since then they have been staying there.
At that time, Mahin Sarkar, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, said, “They have given the government 24 hours yesterday to call for an emergency session in the National Parliament and demand a logical reform of the quota for all grades of government jobs.” The demand has also been made through a memorandum to the President through the Padayatra program.
Meanwhile, the Provost Committee held an emergency meeting at the residence of the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University.
The meeting started in the context of the incident of BCL attack on protesting students. Prof. Abdur Rahim, the principal of Zahurul Haque Hall present in the meeting, confirmed this information to the media and said that this meeting has been called in view of the emerging situation.
