Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan said the court door was always open for the quota protesters. Suggest those who are agitating, why do they talk about the executive department? Any decision of the executive department can be a challenge in court.

He said this to senior lawyers and Supreme Court leaders at a hearing in the Appellate Division on Thursday (July 7th).

The Chief Justice said that quota protesters can raise their demands through lawyers. We will hear it seriously.

The Chief Justice said this while hearing a verdict on the verdict of the Jatiya Sangsad to build a corruption -free country.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular on October 7, 2015, to cancel the quota of freedom fighters directly from the ninth to 5th grade. It was said that the appointment of direct recruitment of the 8th grade (previous grade) and the 8th grade (previous 2nd grade) should be appointed on the basis of merit list. The existing quota (women quota 3 percent, freedom fighter quota 3 percent and district quota 3 percent, tribes 1 and 3 percent of the disabled) were rejected for direct recruitment to those terms.

The freedom fighters of this circular challenged the freedom fighters and the president of the Central Command Council of the Central Command Council filed a writ petition in the High Court. The High Court issued a rule asking that the decision to cancel the quota of freedom fighters would not be declared invalid on the hearing of the writ. The High Court on June 5 ruled that the decision to cancel the freedom fighter quota was illegal. The Chamber Judge Court on the full bench of the Appellate Division upheld the High Court verdict till July 7, when the state party filed against the verdict.

On July 7, the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan ordered the hearing. On that day, the Supreme Court ordered ‘Not Today’ on a petition as there was no senior lawyer for the writ. Besides, the High Court was asked to file a regular appeal (CP) if the High Court verdict was received. Special Chamber Justice of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Ashfaqul Islam fixed the day for the hearing on Wednesday.

The Appellate Division has issued a one -month stability on the verdict of the High Court, declaring the decision to cancel the quota system in the first and second class of government service. As a result of this order, the freedom fighter quota has been upheld and the government’s circular issued in the 21st.

A five -judge appeal bench headed by Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan passed the order on Wednesday (July 7th).
