Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left for China’s capital Beijing

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left for China’s capital Beijing on a four-day bilateral visit. The Prime Minister left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Beijing on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight at 11 am on Monday. The flight is scheduled to land at Beijing International Airport at 6pm (Beijing time).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Qiang during her visit to Beijing.

Several MoUs may be signed between Bangladesh and China during Sheikh Hasina’s visit.

Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) President Jean Likun will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday (July 9) on the second day of her visit to China. The Prime Minister will then attend a summit on trade, business and investment opportunities between the two countries at the China World Summit Wing at Shangri-La Circle in Beijing. After the visit to China, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh will leave for the country on a chartered flight (BG1704) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Beijing Capital International Airport on July 11 at 11:05 PM Beijing time. The flight is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on the same day at 2 PM Bangladesh time.

In this visit, the relations between the two countries are expected to be upgraded from ‘strategic partnership’ to ‘comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership’.
