The senior commander of the country’s armed group Hezbollah, Mohammad Nimah Nasser, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon. Hezbollah said he was killed in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon.

In response to this incident, Hezbollah has also announced that it has launched a series of rocket attacks on Israel.

Hezbollah claimed that they fired hundreds of rockets at Israeli military positions in protest against the killing of the senior commander. Israel’s military said most of the rockets fired by Hezbollah landed in open areas. It caught fire in some places but no casualty was reported.
According to the Israeli military, Nasser was the leader of Hezbollah’s Aziz unit. The unit launched rocket attacks from southwest Lebanon.

Nasser was the most senior Hezbollah leader to fall victim to an Israeli attack after the killing of Taleb Sami Abdullah. Sami Abdullah was killed last month. In response, Hezbollah fired more than 200 rockets and missiles at northern Israel in one day.

On October 7 of last year, the war between Israel and the Palestinian independence organization Hamas began. Since then there have been almost daily shelling incidents along the Israel-Lebanon border. More than 400 people in Lebanon have been killed so far in the ongoing conflict. In addition, 25 Israelis were killed. Almost all of them are army personnel.
