There were cases in the past against the so-called cleric Bholebaba on several charges including sexual harassment
Suraj Pal alias Bholebaba, the so-called cleric who joined the rally called by the cleric in India’s Uttar Pradesh where 121 people died, was facing multiple charges including sexual harassment. NDTV Online reported the information on Wednesday. Bhole Baba called a religious gathering called ‘Satsang’ at Hathor on Tuesday. A ‘Satsang’ was organized in an open field by pitching a tent. 121 devotees died while rushing out after the event. Suraj Pal alias Bholebaba is a resident of Itahar Patiali. Earlier, Narayan Sakar Hari used to help his father in farming. Later he joined the police. In 1997, a case was filed against him on various charges including sexual harassment. In these incidents, he was fired and sentenced to prison. After coming out of jail, he started introducing himself as ‘Sakar Biswa Hari Baba’. There are several cases against him in various places including Etawah, Kasganj, Farukhabad and Rajasthan. Suraj Pal did not wear ocher robes like other clerics. He always wears white clothes. Together with his wife, he carried out religious campaigns. Hundreds of devotees used to attend religious functions organized by him.
