Moderate to heavy rainfall continues in Patuakhali. The air pressure has increased more than before. River water levels have increased. The Bay of Bengal adjacent to Kuakata is becoming quite rough. It has been raining continuously since Monday (July 1) morning in Patuakhali. The Meteorological Office fears that any stormy winds will blow through the coastal areas. Therefore Payra, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Mongla seaports of Patuakhali have been asked to show local warning signal number 03. All fishing trawlers have been asked to proceed with caution close to the coast. Earlier, the weather forecast indicated that southwest monsoon is prevailing over North Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas. Due to its effect, deep convective clouds continue to form over the northern Bay of Bengal and coastal areas and there is an abundance of pressure variations. Patuakhali District Meteorological Office Officer-in-Charge Mahbooba Sukhi said that rainfall may continue in coastal areas for the next 72 hours. Along with this, there is a possibility of blowing wind.
