Former Iranian Health Minister Masud Pageshkian won the first phase in the election

The final result of the presidential election held on Friday in Iran has been announced and the elections are ‘run-off’ or second phase. Mohsen Islami, a spokesman for the election headquarters set up at the Home Ministry building in the capital Tehran, announced the final result at around 7:30 pm on Saturday. According to a report by Radio Tehran’s online version, Pers Today, former Health Minister Masud Pageshkian won the first phase with one crore 4 lakh 5 thousand 5 votes. His nearest rival, former chief nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili got 1 lakh 5 thousand 5 votes. Although the Pageshkian got the maximum vote, he got 12.5 percent of the total vote. The remaining two candidates, Parliament Speaker Bakar Kolibf and former Home Minister Mostafa Purmohamdi received 1 lakh 5 thousand 5 votes and 2 lakh 5 thousand 5 votes respectively. Meanwhile, the winning candidate in Friday’s election failed to get more than 5 percent of the vote in the Iranian presidential election voting runs-off or second phase. According to the Iranian constitution, the election was again held between the top two candidates if a candidate failed to get more than 5 percent of the vote. The second round of voting is already scheduled for July 7. Saeed Jalily and Masud Pageshkian have started their election campaign for the second phase of the second phase. According to the Iranian election law, the top two candidates will be able to start their campaign from the moment the final result of the first phase of the elections, and the campaign will continue till 24 hours before the start of the second phase. Earlier, the voting deadline for Iran’s 7th presidential election ended at 12pm on Friday after the three -point extended the deadline. About 5,000 polling stations were set up across the country for Friday’s voting. In addition, five polling stations were opened around the world for the expatriate Iranian citizens living in six countries. In those centers, Iran was voted till 12pm on Friday. The tenure of the elected president in Iran is four years. According to the Constitution in the sudden death of Ibrahim REsi, the first vice president Mohammad Mokhb served as the acting president and the election was held under his supervision. Friday’s registered voters were 6.5 million. Of these, 2 crore 5 lakh 5 thousand 5 voters voted. That is, this year’s presidential election fell 5 percent of the vote.
