Producer Monir Hossain passed away

Playwright and producer Monir Hossain passed away. He breathed his last at the National Institute of Neurosciences Hospital in Agargaon in the capital on Wednesday (June 26) at 1:30 a.m.It is known that Monir Hossain had a stroke. Later he was admitted to the National Institute of Neurosciences Hospital in the capital. This maker famous for ‘Today is Sunday’ died while undergoing treatment there.Actor Soni Rahman said about the producer’s funeral and burial, the first funeral was held at Dhaka Shilpakala Academy on Thursday morning. His body is being taken to his village home Manohardi in Narsingdi district. There will be burial in the family cemetery after the second funeral.Monir Hossain Jiban was born on February 15, 1968 in a noble Muslim family in Kutubadi (Bar Bari) village under Manohardi Thana of Narsingdi district. Father heroic freedom fighter late Dr. MA Aziz was a police officer.Monir Hossain was a field matano player in Narsingdi district and services team Bangladesh Ansar Dal in the eighties. Besides, entertainment was practiced through the Udichi Shilpi Goshti. Later, he got involved in stage plays through Bangladesh Theater in Dhaka.In 1990, Chacha started working as an assistant director in Bangladesh films with the help of film director Badiul Alam Khokon. He worked as the chief assistant director of BTV’s first package serial drama Mamunur Rashid’s Shilpi and Humayun Ahmed’s Nakshatra Raat. Humayun Ahmed appointed him permanently as the Chief Assistant Director of ‘Nuhash Films’ after seeing his work and talent skills.Since 2000, Monir Hossain Jeevan formed his own production company ‘Swadan Film’. He produced numerous solo plays from his production company. Notable among them are ‘Shada Kaggi’, ‘Banyar Khej Jal’, ‘Unexpected Expectations’, ‘Then Loneliness’, ‘Ekjon Maina’, ‘Gunman’, ‘Marriage Crisis’, ‘Korban Ali’s Sacrifice’ and more than a hundred dramas.The popular telefilms produced by him are – ‘Kala Galagar Mala’, ‘Dhuli Bari’, ‘Hatai’, ‘Fajr Ali’, ‘Ajyan Party’, ‘Tuch’, ‘Katha Have’, ‘Vansh Pradeep’, ‘Aham’, Bangali Biye’, ‘Nijer Sange’, ‘Tumi Ele Tai’, ‘Four Stupid’ etc. Apart from that, Monir Hossain Jiban produced several series of dramas.
