National Primary Education Week begins today

National Primary Education Week-2024 begins today Thursday (June 27). This year’s theme is ‘Child Friendly Primary Education, Initiation of Smart Bangladesh’. On the occasion of National Primary Education Week, President Md. Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages. The ‘Primary Education Medal-2023′ will be awarded during the National Primary Education Week. 126 people are receiving primary education medals for their contribution in various fields. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the program organized on this occasion at 10 am on Thursday. They will receive the medal from the Prime Minister at a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. In his speech, the Prime Minister said, “We have formulated modern education policy and are implementing it.” We have nationalized 26 thousand 193 private primary schools of the country and 1 lakh 5 thousand 616 teachers’ jobs have been nationalized. Last Tuesday (June 25) in a press conference at the Secretariat, Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmed said, ‘in 2022, the primary education medal policy has been increased to 18 categories by adding some new medals at the individual and institutional levels. The main aim of awarding primary education medal is to develop the latent talent of the children to develop their own culture, self-development, gain self-reliance and uncover the culture of their country by participating in national and international competitions. He said that during the National Primary Education Week, awards are given to the best people in recognition of their contribution in their respective fields. Also, medals and certificates were given to primary school students for excellence in sports and cultural arts. This time 126 people are getting medals in 18 categories in three fields.
