Israel attacks Gaza school, kills 16

The Israeli Defense Forces, the IDF, claimed that Hamas ‘militants’ were the target of the attack at the al-Zawni school run by UN refugee agency UNRWA in Palestine. The Palestinian armed organization Hamas has denied this claim.

Hamas said, “The claim by the army of land-occupiers (Israel) that UNRWA’s al-Zawni school was attended by members of the pro-liberation organization (Hamas) is false and misleading.”

‘Israel’s objective is to exterminate the Palestinians. “They are making these false accusations to make the crimes they are committing acceptable to everyone in order to achieve that objective,” the statement added.

The Hamas-controlled Gaza government’s Information Directorate detailed the attack on al-Zawni school in a statement on Saturday.

The UN-run school was being used as a shelter for Palestinians fleeing other parts of Gaza during the ongoing war, the statement said.

The Gaza Government Information Directorate reported that the attack took place at Al-Zauni school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. At least 75 people were injured. At least 16 people were killed.

After the attack, the pressure on Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza increased. The bodies of the deceased have been brought to the hospital. Hospital authorities are struggling to treat the injured as doctors and medical supplies are very less than required.
