Egyptian national football player Ahmed Rifat died

Egyptian national football player Ahmed Rifat died four months after undergoing treatment for a heart attack. The 31-year-old player died yesterday morning on Saturday (July 6). His club Modern Future FC confirmed the death.

The club said in a statement, “Modern Future FC confirms the death of Ahmed Rifat.”

The player of the Egyptian national team died due to a serious deterioration of health. On March 11, 2024, he died today in the hospital after struggling to survive for a long time after a health crisis.
On March 11, during a match in the Egyptian Premier League, Rifat fainted on the field in the 88th minute and suffered a heart attack. Later, Rifat was taken to the ICU of the hospital.

The doctors tried to cure Rifat with a ‘pacemaker’. When his physical condition improved, he was sent home from the hospital. Rifat was being treated there.
Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool’s star footballer, expressed grief over Rifat’s death.

In a post on social media X, Salah wrote, “May God give his (Ahmed Rifat) family and loved ones the strength to persevere.”
Ahmed Rifat made his debut for the national team in 2013 and played his last match last year. Rifat played 7 matches in Egypt’s jersey. This winger also scored 2 goals.
