Fire at Mohammadia Market in Riazuddin Bazar, Chittagong, 3 killed
3 people have been reported dead in a fire at Mohammadiya Market in Riazuddin Bazar, Chittagong city. Some of the burnt people have been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
The fire started around 1.30 pm on Thursday. Two of the dead have been identified. They are – Mohammad Ridwan and Shahed Hossain. Another person’s name is yet to be known.
According to the Agrabad control room of the fire service, 8 units of four stations were sent after receiving information about the fire at 1:40 p.m. The stations are Agrabad, Lamarbazar, Nandankanan and Chandanpura.
The fire service was able to put out the fire at 5:30 am. 3 people were killed in this incident. Several people were rescued and sent to hospital.
In this regard, the fire service said that the fire started from an electrical short circuit. The fire was brought under control after about four hours of efforts. Two women injured in this incident are undergoing treatment in Ward No. 36 of Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
